Legionella Water Risk Assessments
In order to comply with the Health and Safety Commission “Approved Code of PracticeL8”, companies are under legal duty to minimise the risk of legionellosis by identifying and assessing sources of risk of exposure, implementing and managing precautions, keeping records of the precautions implemented and, appointing a person to be managerially responsible.
To do this, a legionella risk assessment must be carried out by a fully qualified and specialist assessor who is fully versed and certified in the requirements of L8 (in relation to COSHH and (HASAWA) and the schematic and technical requirements of the risk assessment itself.
Inadequate management, lack of quality training and poor communication have all been identified as contributory factors outbreaks of Legionnaires Disease, therefore, the person and or organization on whom the statutory duty and responsibility falls, will, in conducting the risk assessment, require access to fully trained and qualified consultation, advice and experience.
The duty holder of any organisation maintains full responsibility at all times and therefore that responsible person must be confident, comfortable and satisfied with the quality, standard and qualification of the assessor.
Through detailed site surveys we ensure our customers and their water systems comply with all current legislation by the submission of the risk assessments, including the sampling of waters for specific analysis, highlighting the risks and proposing a full remedial action plan and recommendations.
All Assessments are carried out by qualified City and Guild trained assessors.
