Title: Legionella Risk Assessor / Water Hygiene Engineer
Reporting to: Gary Jamieson – Operations Manager
Base / Location: Coatbridge Office
Main Purpose of the Job
To carry out complete Water Management and Water Hygiene service packages for water systems within commercial and public buildings all in accordance with the Legionnaires Disease Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L8 2001 requirements.
Activities and Duties
- Assessing Legionella Risks within commercial and public buildings to ACOP (L8) requirements and standards.
- Carry out cleaning and disinfecting of water systems to approved British standards.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the legislation surrounding legionella and water quality in general.
- Will be required to liaise with customers on Legionella Health & safety matters
- Ensure all water systems are compliant with current legislation.
- Able to prepare and present reports to Clients.
- The role will involve cold water storage tank cleaning, cleaning and disinfection of showerheads, sampling and temperature monitoring of water systems
- Drawing off water systems schematics, prepare and complete job sheets and reports.
- Record and maintain site records and site log books to ensure adequate maintenance regimes are being maintained and recorded
- Be able to build and maintain relationships with customers at all levels

North East and North West of England and Scotland.

Personal Situation:
Mature and domestically secure. Over night stays may be required. Able to commute reliably between office base and geographical sales territories. Must have clean or near clean driving license.
Specific Job Skills:
The ideal candidate will be technically literate, have a good knowledge of plumbing and water systems and capable of writing comprehensive reports. Must be able to work with minimal supervision and carry out physical; work such as roof spaces tanks
Knowledge of ACOP (L8) Legionnaires Disease 2001 requirements an advantage – although training will be given - plus familiarity with carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments would be useful.
Literacy and Numeracy:
Good numerical, written and verbal communication skills are essential.
